112.jpgBird Nests is a very interesting subject. Birds make nests at the most unusual places. The Thick-billed Murre and Razorbill lay their eggs directly onto the narrow rocky ledges. The eggs of these species are pointed at one end. Therefore they do not roll and fall down from the rocks but roll in a circle. 113.jpgA bird called Carolina Chickadees has laid her eggs in this two inch pole. The location of the nest is between the two screws in the pole.114.jpgBlack Chickadees have made their nest in this steel post. Notice the eggs within the nest.116.jpgThis Blue Bird nest is inside a goal post pipe of six inches diamater. Birds tend to look for openings and use them if possible.117.jpgRead this carefully. he board says home is where you build your nest. This bird built its nest in the wreath shown here.
